The process of how dowsing works is is simple. The human organism is affected by electro-magnetic fields. We have three sensors; one in the pituitary gland and two in the adrenal glands that are very effective at picking up electromagnetic energies. They are so effective because there are three of them which provides us with three points of reference upon which to pinpoint any source, such as moving water underground for example. Any energy flow creates electromagnetic fields which can be picked up by our internal sensors.
Just like the ears can detect volume, pitch and the direction of sound and the eyes can detect shades of light and colour, these sensors seem to be able to pick up patterns of energy and their direction. Thus the subconscious mind can gain access to information relating to energy sources (and not just those emanating from below ground it would seem), including even the more subtle energies it would seem, that science has neither knowledge of, nor the ability to measure with technology.
Dowsing forms the link, or bridge, between the subconscious, the 'All That is' (some would call this God),and through the pendulum, the conscious mind.
To be serious though, the pendulum, rod or bobber subtly magnifies information passed to them from the muscles which in turn are influenced by the unconscious mind. This information is transmitted to the muscles in the form of subtle involuntary movements by the subconscious mind. Testing shows that accomplished dowsers actually move their pendulum, rod or bobber with tiny involuntary muscle movements. So it is not hard to see how water and other energies can be detected through dowsing when one considers the mind's vast and untapped perceptive abilities.
The internal sensory system picks up a frequency, electrical current or signal underground, or indeed above ground for that matter too. The conscious mind is totally unaware of it in that moment. The only way that the subconscious can communicate with us to a level that we will actually listen or ' hear' is through involuntary muscle movements or through that ' feeling' that we sometimes get that something requires our attention - otherwise known as intuition.
If you have had a feeling that something should be acknowledged, that you need to be aware of something or you have had hunches that turn out to be correct, then you are intuitive too. In truth, we all are to one degree or another. Dowsing merely enables us to tap into that intuition on demand and gain access to literally a whole new world of living, being and knowing.
You might like to consider the cosmos as one giant computer system with trillions of software programmes that are all connected by being a part of the ' System' and yet, with the exception of those that are add-on's to others, are completely unable to interface with each other because the code that they were written in is subtly different.
Those programmes are the trillions of vibrational frequencies that exist within the cosmos, and the sub-programmes could be seen as the different species; each existing within their own sub-system, yet without the slightest awareness of the existence of the other sub-systems. Unaware that is, until a few species contain within them the code that, when activated, enables communication with all other programmes within 'The System'.
Using my analogy of the computer, God is the programmer, the levels and planes of consciousness are the operating systems, the species are the sub-systems and the vibrations and frequencies that exist are the billions of programmes. Human beings are merely one sub-system, but our consciousness is the screen through which all things can be viewed. Dowsing tools are the keyboards upon which we can re-write or programme our own code to access the entire ' System'
It is in this context that dowsing can be learned, developed and used to the most amazing benefit. By literally creating protocols (procedures) for dowsing we can programme, not only the pendulum, rod, or bobber, but our own subconscious mind to tune into and receive information on literally anything within the ' System' or ' All That Is'. Even the most basic protocols can open the door to information regarding health, well-being and spiritual guidance.
In short, dowsing is what could be described as the twenty first century technology of intuition, insight and wisdom that reaches beyond the boundaries of the physical world, and allows us a sneak preview of things to come on all levels and planes of our being. Perhaps most exciting of all, is the personal confirmation that it brings that we are not, and never have been alone in the universe, and that we are each a miraculous pulse in the beating heart of All That Is.
