Where do I start to try and portray the rich and vibrant way that spirit entered my life and gently guided me to help their cause?
Looking back to 1967 following the death of my mother, it became obvious that my sensing the presence of spirit had already started, although it has to be said, I did not understand exactly what was happening.
I was ten at that time and I remember feeling very afraid of coming home from school and into an empty home.
Despite the fact there was ‘panda’ our huge Pyrenean mountain dog waiting for me every night, I still never felt at ease, and often felt I needed to back into the corner of a room and crouch down.
Often I would suddenly turn around as though I felt someone was behind me.
What was also strange looking back, was the way the dog would often suddenly launch herself to her feet and bound across the kitchen wagging her tail as if greeting someone she knew.
I now understand that she was probably seeing spirit where I was only sensing it.
My life took many changes over the years and even when I was sleeping rough at the age of around fourteen years old I can now see how spirit was looking after me, and I always knew inside, that everything was going to be alright.
Following the death of my wonderful brother Geoff back in 1978, I decided to leave Devon and I moved to Nottingham.
I joined a psychic research group for a laugh and came across some hilarious situations!
I did feel however that I needed to sort out all these ‘nutters’ who claimed to be able to communicate with the dead!
I arranged a meeting with one lady who was a medium and without giving my name I turned up as arranged and prepared for battle!
I made it quite clear on the phone that I did not believe in mediums but wanted to know how she worked.
She was extremely pretty and very pleasant, especially the legs!
She asked me if would I have any objection if a newspaper reporter joined us as he wanted to write an article about her.
I was happy with this because he would probably be asking the same questions that I would have done anyway so all I needed to do was listen and try not to laugh!
The reporter proved to be very ignorant and basically an obnoxious smartass, but what impressed me was more was the way the medium never became offended and simply gave some very interesting answers to all his questions.
After a couple of hours he left quite defeated.
I remained and was offered a stiff drink!
The next half an hour changed my life because if what this lady claimed was right, it blew my understanding of life and death into pieces.
She offered to do a reading for me which at first I declined as I did not intend getting caught for a fee!
She stated she felt it was important for me to have some personal proof as she felt it would lead to me helping many people later in life, and insisted there would be no fee.
I reluctantly agreed and moved to a table where she lightly rested her hand on top of mine and we sat quietly.
At the time I remember thinking, if all mediums were as stunning as this one, maybe I should investigate more!
Suddenly out of the blue masses of personal information was given to me supposedly from my mother.
The medium had tears streaming down her face but the information just continued to flow and flow and what was astounding to me was that it was all absolutely accurate and true.
I was speechless at what had happened and secondly she even described my work place and predicted some very quick changes were going to happen within the next two weeks.
They did!
I became close friends with her and her husband.
We shared many wonderful experiences together and some still make me laugh even today.
I remember being called into to do a spiritual ‘stake out’ with her husband in Derby.
The occupants were two ladies in their thirties one of which claimed her bed was vibrating in the night for no reason.
I remember I couldn’t risk my friends eyes and mine meeting when this fact was mentioned, and when she then stated that a friend of hers had asked her if she thought she might be sexually frustrated and creating the energy herself subconsciously?
I knew I had to get out of the room before I cracked!
I offered to fetch us all some fish and chips and made a swift but professional exit.
It was absolutely belting down with rain when I returned and as I approached the front door gripping my chips, I remember the mediums advice about thinking through a prayer of protection before entering any psychically active building.
When I eventually came into house my mate quietly asked, ‘where the hell have you been’!
I replied ‘I forgot the b---dy prayer’!
No bed shook that night, and we soon departed!
Joking aside, I saw many wonderful things over the years which made me appreciate both the positive and the negative issues of the
spiritual pathway and for that I will always be great-full.
From 1984 I recognised my healing ability and this I did whenever and wherever it was needed.
I learned to understand that spirit does not always shout in ones ear!
Instead, quiet intuitive thought processes came to me about illnesses and the cause of my patients problems.
In 1995 I decided to resign from a secure job with the Mod and went to University to complete a degree in Heritage Conservation.
Whilst studying in the early hours of the morning I often found a
need to scribble things down which had nothing to do with my studies.
‘The Christmas Tree’ was just such an example and once whilst visiting an ancient well at Cerne Abbas in Dorset I wrote the piece called ‘Augustine’s Well’ just on the spur of the moment.
These I threw into my desk draw and virtually forgot about.
In 2000 I gave up much of my material possessions and rented an old cottage in the local village.
It was a very traumatic time and during the day I washed cars for a living and at night I found myself suddenly waking up, needing to write things down and consequentially poems were quickly given to me.
This I considered a very ‘girly’ thing to do so the poems were stuffed in the desk draw as well!
The cottage was always very cold and dark but in a strange sort of way it was unbelievably tranquil.
In essence, the more difficult things became, then the greater peace I received.
In 2001 I started a new job working in a museum and loved working with the public as we always found something to have a laugh about.
Despite being qualified as a Curator I took a job as a museum assistant and wages were rubbish, but I hoped it would lead to better things.
It did but not in the way I expected!
Looking back I had been placed exactly where I was meant to be.
I would often meet a visitor who I intuitively knew I had to give some information to, or that they had a problem and needed help.
The more this happened the more I was surprised how accurate the information was, but it was so rewarding to see someone leave the museum who now knew which way to turn now.
I could often be found doing healing on a visitor to the museum and although I received some very strange looks I did not give a damn!
I was always amused when a visitor wrote to the management of the museum and asking them to pass on their appreciation to me for all the spiritual help or healing they had received from me during their visit!
The comment was often along the lines of ‘I have no idea how his hands were so hot, or how he knew so much about me.’
The answer to that one is nor did I!
One morning the secretary at the museum told me that a very nice lady had phoned from Switzerland wanting to speak to me with the wish for me to visit her for a holiday!
‘Yea right’ I thought, as if?
The secretary said that the lady would phone again at 10 am.
I just laughed and went back downstairs into the museum and spent the next twenty minutes trying to work out which of my workmates was behind this wind up!
Just after 10 am my radio crackled into life and I was called back upstairs to the phone.
The office fell deathly quiet as I took the call and all the time I was quickly glancing around the office trying to see which little beauty was behind this imaginary call, but to my surprise I found I was actually talking to a lady that I did remember!
There were ripples of laughter throughout the office as I put down the phone!
I went home and considered the offer but felt I could not afford to go
as it was hard enough to find the rent let alone go to Switzerland on holiday.
Whilst relaxing in my bath that night I closed my eyes and was suddenly shown a chap wearing an outrageous flowery shirt.
Then a picture of someone handing me an envelope which I couldn’t understand but I was surprised how clear the picture was.
I was speaking to an old medium friend of mine later that week who said that she felt I really needed to go to Switzerland because there was something to do with an issue of timing, and it was important.
I knew by going I would be £200 worse off and did not really know how I could manage once I had returned home from holiday.
I went, and had a wonderful time teaching healing and visiting the mountains.
Linda took me to the Santis mountain and whilst I was at the very top I received an amazing peace. It was if someone told me that my degree didn’t matter, the house that I had given up didn’t matter, and that it was what and how I had achieved what I had today, that was the important thing.
In essence I was where I needed to be and had an overwhelming feeling everything was about to change for the better.
It was really strange because this was not a voice I could hear but the love I received with it was amazing.
As I left the airport in Switzerland after a wonderful week, Linda’s mother asked me if I would promise to do something for her, and I said of course.
As I kissed them all goodbye and turned to the departures gate she pushed an envelope into my hand and asked me to promise not to open it until I had landed in London.
This I did and was speechless to find £200 in cash.
Nobody else knew anything about how difficult it was for me to go to
Switzerland, but I guess what I had been shown in the bath was spirit just giving me the go-ahead but couldn’t understand where the shirt came into the scenario.
As I boarded the bus from London to Poole a chap came to sit next to me who was gay but very pleasant.
He had just flown in from America. (timing?)
As we talked he mentioned his sister had had cancer but was getting better.
As he got off the bus I handed him my card and said if ever he wanted me to see his sister I would be happy to help.
He thanked me and left.
A month later, I received a call at work from him asking me to see
his mother who had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and this I agreed to do at 6 pm that night.
I did not know the area where his mother lived but after becoming lost, I stopped to ask directions.
It turned out that I was actually right outside the mother’s house.
As I walked into the house I was met by around 20 people but one lady I just seemed to know, who was another sister of the guy from the bus.
I married this wonderful lady in 2007!
Looking back to the ‘gay’ shirt, the importance of timing, and the envelope, it is obvious to me now that I was being guided to be where I needed to be, and spirit continues to do so all the time.
It is hoped that the channelled writing within my books help the reader to understand we are never alone.
Yes, there will always be difficult times in our lives but if we are receptive to the guidance that is given, all obstacles will be overcome.
This life is but a journey of learning and the matter of finances or success has little importance in the great scheme of things.
What we give out, we get back, and I have always brought my two wonderful daughters up to understand this, and which I am pleased to say they have.
Those individuals who live their lives driven by greed, deception, and material gains from others, will never succeed.
It will always be taken away from them in another way.
All you have to do is wait and you will see my words are true and their efforts will be fruitless.
All we can take from this dimension is love and experience!

as along that beach you’d walk,
stood beside you, as you watched the stars,

I am the one who gave you wisdom,
not to go back, to where you’ve been,
and to remember, the pictures I’d shown you,
to understand, that it wasn’t a dream,
I am the one who will embrace you,
to help you understand, you’ve really died,!
to hear your laughter as we leave,
hey, that’s my job!
